"Oh, it’s a long, long while from May to December ..." begins a song that I have always loved. You will find a wide variety of performers and renditions of this Kurt Weill song. The original singer, Walter Huston, who is father to director John and grandfather to actor Angelica, made this song his own in "Knickerbocker Holiday" in 1938. My favorite rendition is by the composer’s widow, Lotte Lenye. Neither performance would meet standards of today, but I like them for genuine feelings each brings to the song.
